Thyrsus

Thyrsus, the Watchtower of the Stone Book, stands in the part of the Supernal World called the Primal Wild. It usually manifests as a tall natural feature, such as a great tree or mountain. It is always guarded by fierce beasts, both mundane and mythical.

Thyrsus mages are often called Shamans. Their ruling Arcana are Life and Spirit. Their inferior Arcanum is Mind.

Thyrsyus Shamans are among the most mystical of mages, looking deep beyond the the surface to see the life and spirits pulsing beneath. Many of them disdain human society – both mundane and arcane – preferring the companionship of unspoiled nature. This often causes other mages to view them as strange, barbaric savages, but the Shamans who remain in human company often show a surprising sophistication in their thinking and relationships, just skewed slightly because of their different perspective. Whatever their associations, Thyrsus mages tend to be very energetic and given to deep passions. When they love, they love completely, and when they hate, their hatred is awesome and terrifying to behold.
