North End

A tangle of narrow, cobbled streets and close-set tenements and houses, the North End is Boston’s oldest residential area, featuring prominently in the history of the settlement of New England and the Revolutionary War. For the past several decades, it has been dominated by Irish immigrants, but a recent influx of Italians is changing the nature of the neighbourhood.
